EFT Japan Community offers the following training programs:

Learning basic understanding of EFT concepts and intervention methods

Examining couple distress from an attachment perspective, focusing more on attachment needs, and learning to understand couples’ relationship patterns and distress patterns (cycles) through practical exercises and workshops

Advanced courses for those who have already participated in Externship training
Introduction Training
This is an enjoyable learning opportunity for those interested in understanding what couples counseling is like and learning about the perspectives from which EFT couple sessions are conducted before taking the official international EFT training.
Externship Training
Main Objectives of the EFT Externship:
- Examining emotional issues and relationship concerns from an attachment perspective.
- Supporting clients in reprocessing emotional reactions that lead to continued experiences of dysfunction and relationship distress.
- Creating important new interactions and experiences for building safe connections with others.
- Overcoming therapeutic impasses and working with the blocks (barriers) in which clients are stuck.
Participants will learn the basic stages and steps of attachment-based Emotionally Focused Therapy through lectures, videotapes, exercises (and live interviews where possible), and will learn to help couples, individuals, and families recognize and resolve cycles of problematic interactions. They will also learn methods for creating and restoring emotional bonds between couples by understanding negative cycles and the attachment needs that drive them.
Core Skills Training
This training provides deeper-level learning about each step of EFT. Following guidelines established by ICEEFT (the International Centre for Excellence in EFT in Ottawa), each session includes guidance on using EFT and group supervision. Enrolling in this course means committing to attend and participate in all sessions (1 module × 4). Participants also have the opportunity to receive feedback by recording and bringing videos of their own client sessions (submission is not required).
Past Training Programs
While international training programs are held very frequently abroad, the first official international training in Japan was held in 2022.
